Winter Lecture Series #3: Growing Dahlias from Tubers to Gorgeous Blooms

We can’t make spring come any faster, but we CAN provide some quality programming to hold you over until then! Join us in-person or by Zoom for a month of gardening-themed presentations that are sure to take the chill out of your week. Lectures will be held at the homestead each Wednesday in the month of March; we will serve tea and snacks at 3:30PM before the presentation at 4PM.. Winter Lecture Series #3: Growing Dahlias from Tubers to Gorgeous Blooms w/ Dani Gent
Dani Gent is the owner and farmer-florist of Full Stem Ahead Flower Farm in Troy, Maine. She grows over 81 varieties of beautiful dahlias along with 40 other varieties of cut flowers on her climate-positive farm. She is a retired US Navy veteran, a certified Master Gardener, and has won several awards in national shows and state fairs for Dahlia-growing excellence.
Dani will present on best practices to successfully plant, cultivate, and harvest Dahlias. We will also discuss organic practices for keeping plants healthy, integrated pest management, disease management along with some tips and tricks for taking cuttings, seed saving and successfully storing dahlias for their long winter nap.
