The “Butterfly Guy” comes to McLaughlin Garden!

Norway Memorial Library and the McLaughlin Garden are delighted to welcome Jerry Schneider, the “Butterfly Guy” for a fun and fascinating program about the amazing world of butterflies.

Through photos, hands-on displays, and plenty of butterfly trivia (did you know butterflies taste with their feet?), Jerry will show how you can attract butterflies to your own garden and create pollinator-friendly habitats, and he’ll share why Monarch butterflies make their incredible journey to Mexico.

After the presentation, guests will be able to make their own colorful butterfly t-shirts to take home! Bring a plain cotton or cotton-blend t-shirt in any light color (please avoid black or dark blue), or you can purchase one at the program for just $5.

This free program is perfect for families, gardeners, nature lovers – really, for anyone who is curious about the incredible butterflies that call Maine home.
