Debi Irons presents “Globalocal in the Garden” with Margoth Lima

Local professional dancer Debi Irons, founder/owner of the non-profit Cottage Street Creative Exchange and Art Moves Dance Studio in Norway, ME, has taught, inspired, and empowered dancers of all ages across the country, overseas, and especially right here in Maine.  We are thrilled that Debi will be sharing her mission with us by bringing her Globalocal exchange program to the McLaughlin Garden for an evening of dance performance and education. We are excited to welcome Margoth Lima, a phenomenal dancer in the Alberto Maranhao Theater Dance Company of Rio Grande do Norte, Brazil. She is also a beloved professor at its school in the northeastern coastal city of Natal where Debi Irons saw Ms. Lima dance for the first time ten years ago during an exchange. There is a deep and affectionate bond among the artists, collaborators and sponsors of Cottage Street Creative Exchange(CSCE). Dancers and musicians, families and friends from Maine to Northeastern Brazil have shared moves and meals together over the past ten years in weeks-long exchanges.
