August Artist of the Month – Virginia Valdes

Contemporary, multi-media artist Virginia Valdes is our featured artist of the month for August.  Virginia’s work has been shown around the world and she is a recipient of a Lef Foundation grant which supported her truly interactive installation, Wasteland, at Bates College.  Her work deals with illusions, the denial of lived experiences, and the rift man creates with his natural environment. She employs different types of media and techniques, including installation, video, sculpture, graphic design, and photography.
